Harold
Eppley
Harold Eppley has been writing stories for as long as he can remember. In
third grade he sold hand-printed copies of his “books” to classmates for a
quarter each until his mother made him stop. Despite being born in the
decadent metropolis of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Harold had a happy
childhood. He grew up in the idyllic village of Enosburg Falls, Vermont,
where he graduated as valedictorian of his high school class.
He is also a magna cum laude graduate of Saint Olaf College in Minnesota. He
received a master’s degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Iowa. With
his wife, Rochelle Melander, Harold is the author of 7 nonfiction books,
including Our Lives Are Not Our Own. He has worked as a religious
professional in various capacities for 23 years, in cities, suburbs and very
small towns-- including 4 years as a pastor in the Allegheny Mountains of
western Pennsylvania, where Ash Wednesday is set.
Harold currently lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife and children,
Samuel and Eliana.
